Sh. Ram Niwas Mirdha became life member of the Society on dated 10.10.76 and his membership number was 236. He became Executive Committee Member in the year 1989. Sh. Ram Niwas Mirdha was elected as President of the Society in the year 1992 and continued till his death i.e. on 29.1.2010. Till 1992, our members dream project of providing coaching facilities to rural students had failed miserably and we had switched over to ITI and Polytechnic courses. In these courses , we could create desired goodwill and both the courses were in demand. On revenue front, these courses made Society’s position difficult and had to incur losses. In the meanwhile, GGSIP University came into existence in the year 1999. Under the guidance of Sh. Ram Niwas Mirdha, Society opened three Colleges at main campus and got them affiliated from GGSIP University. These colleges are running various courses and have created their own goodwill among all colleges (Delhi) affiliated to GGSIP University. Brief description of these institutions is given below :-

1. Maharaja Surajmal Institute (MSI) : This College got affiliated with GGSIPU in 1999. Presently this College is conducting six courses with annual intake of 630 students and total strength at present is 1082

MSI is having teaching faculty of 57 and non-teaching faculty of 22. We have constructed new additional floor area of 2183.85 sq. mtrs. under revised master plan of Delhi.

3. Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Pharmacy :- This College provides degree of Bachelor of Pharmacy. This is four year degree course affiliated with GGSIP University and approved by AICTE. There is intake of 60 students every year. This course has been discontiunued and no new admission are being done.

All the three Colleges were facing shortage of built-up area. As per AICTE/University norms, the availability of built-up area was not sufficient to support our existing intake of students. To provide sufficient space for the approved intake, a new additional area of around 10000 sq. meters approx have already been consturcted. New lifts have been installed in MSI also.

These colleges not only made their recognition among all colleges affiliated to GGSIP University but the financial position of the Society (SMES) is also made comfortable. Sh. Ram Niwas Mirdha, was still feeling uncomfortable because rules / norms of GGSIP University, AICTE and Delhi government’s Directorate of Higher Education do not permit for special provision for admission to the students from rural area, like wise for providing employment to the faculty from rural areas. Therefore, Sh. Mirdha decided that to achieve above objectives, we should develop campuses outside Delhi in the countryside. Therefore, to begin with, it was decided to have one campus in Rajasthan, U.P. and Haryana.

i) Rajasthan :–It was decided to start one campus at Bikaner. As desired by local members from Rajasthan, it was decided to open Girls School at Bikaner. For this, 9 acres of land was taken on 70 years lease from ‘Kissan Chhatrawas’. This is situated on Bikaner-Jaipur National Highway No. 11. Society constructed ultramodern building on this land with built-up area of 7500 sq. meters. School has 45 classrooms, 4 labs, administrative block, library, drawing and art labs and computer labs etc. Society has spent around Rs. 700 lacs on this project. School named ‘ Maharani Kishori Devi Girls School’ started function from the session 2009-10. Maharani Kishori Devi was Maharani of Maharaja Surajmal of Bharatpur. At present, there are 914 students and 39 teachers. Hostel building for the school is under construction.

ii) U.P. :- It was decided to start one campus in Uttar Pradesh at Shamli (Muzaffarnagar). Society purchased 4 acres of land on Shamli-Muzaffarnagar road on 18.1.2006. A state of the art four storied building was constructed to house a co-education school named ‘Maharaja Surajmal Public School’. Total built-up area of the school is 8400 sq. meters (90384 sq. ft.) having 52 class rooms, 8 laboratories, administrative block, library, computer labs, fine art labs and adequate space for other co-curricular activities. We have spent around 750 lacs of rupees on this project. This school was started during 2009-10 session.

iii) Haryana :- We have bought 65 kanal, 17 marla land on Bahadurgarh-Jhajjar road. This 8 kms away from Bahadurgarh. The construction work has already been started and is in full swing.
