Talent Development Camp

Surajmal Memorial Education society is committed for the encouragement of people from rural areas. To fulfill this commitment, the society has established many educational institutes. There are two institutes in Delhi namely Maharaja Surajmal Institute and Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology and two public schools namely Maharaja Surajmal Public shool, Shamli, Uttar Pradesh and Maharani Kishori Devi Girls School, Bikaner, Rajasthan. The society has also started construction of another public school for girls upto 12th standard in Bahadurgarh, Haryana. The work of this school will be completed by December 2018. The society has always been determined for continuously making efforts to achieve its established goals and routinely organize such events that help in mental and intellectual development of students.

For promoting and developing students of rural background, the visionary legend Late Sh. Ram Niwas Ji Mirdha, then Hon’ble President of society laid down the idea of organizing yearly camp for students of rural areas in Delhi. Under his noble guidance, the first such camp known as “Talent Development Camp” was organized in 1999 at its Delhi campus. Stating from 1999, every year in month of June, this two week camp is being organized by society. This year also, 20th Talent camp was organized from 12th June 2018 to 23rd June 2018.

Every year almost 250 students from remote and rural areas of states such as Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana etc. take part in this camp. The society makes all arrangements for their stay, food, study, lectures on career guidance and personality development from experts in Delhi. Also participants are taken on the tour of historical places of Delhi. The society bears complete cost of organizing this camp. The aim of this camp is to provide guidance and exposure to the intelligent and brilliant students of rural background so that they can also be successful in their life.
